Meet Our Pastor
Pastor George Fitzgerald Edge is a native of Plains, (Sumter County) Georgia. He was born to the parentage of the Late Mr. Judson Edge, Sr. and Mrs. Julia Edge, where he is the eighth of f nine siblings.
He was reared as a Christian with the fear of God as his guide and attended church and served in the house of God with all his heart as a child.
Pastor George F. Edge is well educated both in a professional capacity and also in the ministry.
In addition to being the spiritual leader to the Restoration Church of Americus family, Pastor Edge is the husband of Lindsey Carol Edge, father to Katasha (Shannon) English, Lakeisha (Vincent) Kearse, Aaron, and Caleb and a proud grandfather to DeAngelo, Denishia, Breyanna, Shaquaja, Kabren, Aaron Jordan (AJ), and Vincent Jr. (VJ).
Pastor George Edge was called into the ministry on June 2, 1991. He was ordained in July 1992 and has been preaching the Word of God since that time. Pastor Edge has pastored several churches, namely: New Poplar Springs Baptist - Byromville, GA; McAfee Grove Baptist - Smithville, GA; Zion Hill Baptist - Leslie, GA; Bethesda Baptist - Americus, GA; and lastly he obeyed the mandate from God to bring forth the Restoration Church of Americus, Inc. in June, 2006.
Pastor Edge was specifically called of God through a divine intervention to lead the Restoration Church family in June 2006 on the foundation of Isaiah 58:12 "and they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places; thou shalt raise up the foundation of many generations; and thou shalt be called, the Repairer of the breach, the Restorer of paths to dwell in." God continues to work through Pastor Edge as he imparts the Word of God to the people of God. Pastor Edge's vision for the Restoration Family is for salvation and deliverance to come through his teaching and preaching of God's word; and that the Body both physically and spiritually is not suffering from anything. Not only does Pastor Edge breathe Life to the Restoration family and the community, but also through the outreach Prison Ministry at Lee State Corrections Institute. He has drawn a stronger relationship with the congregation through his series of many sermons on "Unity", "Order in God's House, and "Seasons of Transition". Pastor Edge preaches and teaches the Word of God with clarity, without walls and with a spiritual boldness.
Pastor Edge lives in harmony with all mankind and is well respected in the community and statewide by men and women in the five-fold ministries at large. He travels to many churches, cities, and towns, preaching and declaring the gospel of Truth. He is gentle, filled with rare but divine humility, a sincere and humble man of God and always sympathetic to the need of everyone, irrespective of where they worship.
